Before you leave

Documents you
must bring.

Arriving without one of these is the most common reason a family is sent away and has to come back. If any of it is missing, call us before you travel.

Ask about your documents

What the ground will ask for

  • Photocopy of the deceased's Aadhaar, Voter ID or passport - compulsory
  • For a deceased person under 40: the doctor's report, the postmortem report and the hospital slip - all three
  • The cause-of-death certificate (Form 4 or 4A) or hospital death summary
  • Photo ID of the family member arranging the cremation

The counter can ask for more than the posted list. If anything here is missing, call before you travel rather than after you arrive.
